Colours and prints aren’t usually my thing, but when the sun is scorching outside, it’s hard not to get dragged over to the dark side (or bright side). You may have seen in my latest haul (you can watch that HERE if you haven’t seen it) that I picked up a few pieces from Aeropostale in Liffey Valley. This pineapple tee being one of my favourite items. I thought it would be a nice challenge for me to style it up but I immediately envisaged it with this a-line denim skirt. It’s such an easy and effortless summer look, and definitely kept me cool in the Irish heatwave.
My tips for Styling Bright Colours & Prints
1. Stick to one print if your a newbie. It’s much easier to wear. Once you’ve perfected that you can move on to clashing your prints (I’d recommend stripes on stripes, or stripes and leopard print).
2. Stick to a similar colour palette. One sure way to look more put together and stylish is to stick to a maximum of 3 colours per outfit, so picking one colour out of a printed item and pairing things of that shade with it should do the trick.
3. Add a bright lipstick. If you’re not brave enough to wear those bright colours in your wardrobe, pop on a bright lipstick to add the extra oomph.
4. Keep the accessories to a minimum, and opt for neutral colours (black/white).
5. Forget all the rules and rock whatever you want to. Fashion is about breaking the rules after all.
