As soon as the sun starts to shine in Ireland it’s almost mandatory to have a BBQ. It’s a great way to get together with friends and family and the perfect excuse to get a little bit dressed up. I’ve teamed up with Aeropostale once again to share my tips on dressing for a summer BBQ.
1. Be careful when wearing white. I know, I know, I picked a white shirt for my outfit, but I would recommend being very careful around ketchup, bbq sauce, all dark coloured condiments really. I learned the hard way when I wore an all white outfit to my nephew’s birthday bbq and came home covered in chocolate and ketchup. Not a good look.
2. Be comfy. There’s nothing worse than an uncomfortable outfit when you’re trying to relax and have a good time. These trousers are the perfect mix of comfy and dressy, and they’d also be great for going from day to night.
3. Always have extra layers. This shirt is the perfect throw on piece when it gets a bit too chilly in the evenings. It will keep the breeze off, but again, looks perfectly chic with the whole look.
4. Think ‘day-to-night’. You never know where the night will take you so it’s best to be prepared for every eventuality. These shoes are the perfect pair for going dancing if I wanted to, but comfy enough for day too. I’m really digging the mid-heel this summer, and the lace-up is bang on trend too.
