Building a Capsule Wardrobe can seem a bit like gathering all of your basics into one pile and discarding all of your more colourful and printed pieces. Let’s face it; these items are what your style different from everyone else on Pinterest and Instagram.
If you don’t really know where to start when trying to work colour into your Capsule Wardrobe, I’ve put together a video sharing two versions of a 12 Piece Capsule Wardrobe, mixing in different colour and prints, and I’ve styled up a variety of looks with each pieces. This is a follow on from my previous 12 Piece Basic Capsule from last week, so I have used the same 12 pieces for the base of these two different Capsules; so hopefully this will show a little bit better how I would start from a basic capsule, and then work colours and prints in from there.
Colour Swap
Swapping out the beige jumper for a pop of pink adds a Spring touch to the otherwise basic midi skirt. The leopard print shoe adds a bit more of my own personality. You could try a polka dot, floral or any other kind of print. See the full look HERE
Print Swap
Swapping in a printed blazer adds more of a statement and edge to the slip dress. The tailored blazer is also a nice juxtaposition of the flowy silk. See the full look HERE
