Living with a more curated, minimal wardrobe can mean you need to be a bit craftier when it comes to dressing for various occasions. A lot of what I include in my everyday Capsule Wardrobe also gets worn for nights out and dressier occasions (as they should!). I am a firm believer that a good pair of shoes and some extra touches to transform an outfit.

It’s all about the shoes (flats v heels)
The main way I like to transform an outfit from day to night, or casual to dressy, is by switching up my footwear. For me, flats scream casual and a nice heel screams ‘helloooo, I’m fancy now‘. You don’t have a wear a 4 inch heel to jazz up your evening-time look, but a kitten heel or a heeled boot can take the look to another level.
Add some jewellery
Some bling can really add that effortless vibe to a dressier look. A statement necklace or earrings can add the something something that your work-day look may have been missing. I love a statement fun earring with a more modest turtleneck.
My next go-to is some gold hoop earrings, which I used in this styling video.
Switch up your makeup
This is one of the easiest ways to upgrade your look, because you can just carry an extra lipstick in your bag for any impromptu post-work occasions. A bold lip, a smokey eye or a winged liner can make your overall look seem more polished and will freshen you up after a day at work.
